Baby Bedtime Discoveries with Johnson & Johnson

Watching our baby sleep is one of the things that brings such joy to being a mother. Yesterday, I was very fortunate to have attended Johnson Baby Bedtime Discovery at the Ascott Residences. It was fun learning about the Science of Sleep.
Dr. Luis Rivera, a Fellow of the Philippine Society for Sleep Medicine, explained how important sleep is to our baby's growth and well-being. He shared to us that during sleep, there are three times more growth hormones that are released than when babies are awake. He further explained the importance of a regular bedtime routine in order to keep our babies well-rested during the time they are sleeping.
Johnson & Johnson together with some midwives shared with us the 3-Step Bedtime Time Routine that is clinically proven to stretch your baby´s sleep by as much as 23%.
Step 1: A warm bath or "punas"
A nice warm bath or even a simple ´punas´ with JOHNSON´S® Baby Bedtime Bath will set the tone for your baby bedtime routine. The warmth of the water, coupled with your gentle, lathering touch will soothe baby. Once you´ve established this as a regular nighttime routine, the bath will signal your baby that she´s on her way to bed.Enjoy the moment... your baby definitely will!
Step 2 : A soothing massage
The midwives shared with us the I-Love-You massage and the Milking massage which will not only get your baby ready for sleep, infant massage or Touch Therapy also has clinically proven benefits and has been shown to contribute to healthy weight gain, improve babies´ immunity and calm then when they are irritable. Spread JOHNSON´S® Baby Bedtime Baby Lotion on your palms then stroke her with a gentle motion.
Step 3: Quiet Time
JOHNSON´S® Baby Powder is perfect before you begin quiet time. Quiet time is the time when you bond with your baby while you hush her to sleep. Read her a bedtime story, sing a lullaby or simply softly talk her to sleep.Your voice, familiar to her from birth, will cradle her into dreamland.
Lovely and very pregnant Christine Bersola-Babao hosted the event [feeling close talaga ako..hahahah]
 Beth, me and BFF, DJ
I am so glad to finally meet fellow blogger Beth in person. She was really nice. It's also nice to share this event with my BFF, DJ. [Ano beh? Napapagitnaan ako ng dalawang payat. Sa susunod na picture taking payat na din ako...hahaha.]. I really had such a great time at this event and I learned a lot about the science of sleep.
Thank you so much for the goodie bag J&J! I can finally apply the 3-Step Bedtime Routine to my little girl!

I just wanna share with you what we had for lunch....

Another cheat day for me....heehee

Searching for a Webhost Service?

If we own a blog or a website, most likely we would like to have our own domain for it. But finding the best webhosting service for our website is hard and complicated. Nowadays, there are so many hosting service companies that offers almost the same packages at different prices. You have to really look into the features and see if those features matches what your site really needs. Like my blog, for example, this blog is a personal site and most often than not, I post lots of pictures. My needs are, of course, higher storage area and greater bandwidth for me continue what I do.

But you don't need to scour websites to be able to check on different webhost provider. Webhostinggeeks.com provides independent reviews of the best web hosting providers. They also enumerate the features and give the rates of almost all the webhosting providers available. They also tell you which provider got an award. It will make your search easier.

If you are looking into having your own domain name I suggest you check it out. As for me, I'm still thinking about it.

Teriyaki Boy

When peanutbutter met us at Rob Galleria the other day, we decided to have lunch at Teriyaki Boy. We're not really in the mood for Japanese, we were looking for a chicken dish for Ykaie. Chicken is her favorite dish right now-- Fried Chicken to be specific. We want her to appreciate other chicken dishes and not eat fried all the time.

Teriyaki Boy has the best Chicken Teriyaki.
Gyu Yakiniki Don [P275]
This is peanutbutter's order. The beef was thinly sliced and really tasty!
Teriyaki Boy Bento [P300]
I ordered the Teriyaki Boy Bento for me and Ykaie. It consists of Chicken Teriyaki, Rice,Kani Salad, Coffee Jelly, Iced Tea and....
....Miso Soup which Ykaie loved so much!
Here's a very playful Ykaie after the meal...
The very next day Sis and I went for some grocery shopping and guess what? She wanted to eat at Teriyaki Boy too! We had...
Crazy California Roll [P175]
This is California Roll with watermelon and lettuce..dipping sauce is kewpie mayo with soy sauce..
Chicken-Ebi Kiddie Meal [P175]
Kiddie Meal for Ykaie and me, the sis ordered the Ebi Tempura Bento.
an entry for an entry for. Have a great weekend everyone!

On mails and mailboxes

I have this thing for Mailboxes. No, I don't like receiving bills,silly..heehee. But I must admit electric bills, cable bills and telephone bills are just about the only things that comes through the mail box these days.In this day and age of computers, it is easier to send out letters through e-mails and there are also some e-cards available. But it is really nice to send or receive some snail mails and traditional cards to and from people you care about once in a while, specially if it goes through a really cute Mailbox.

What we have right now is a wall mount mailbox..... a really old wall mount mailbox. It would be really nice if I can change it to a single-unit mailbox like the picture on the right. I'm thinking it would be a nice front yard decor too!

My little princess loves Donuts♥

Ykaie loves donuts. She loves those donuts with sprinkles on top. The other day, while waiting for daddy at Rob Galleria, she chanced upon KK's new mini donuts. Those mini-donuts has sprinkles on them and are very colorful but they only sell it per box of 20 pcs. I told her we could only buy one donut. She settled for the original glazed.

My baby girl is slowly becoming a little girl and we can now bond over donuts in cafés, talking about silly stuffs and things with no sense and telling stories. How time flies.........

I think she's now sugar high in the picture..heehee

This week's weight loss contest update

And so I slacked off pretty badly last week resulting from no weight loss at all. No exercise, ate some rice, chips, chocolates and another ton of sugar. Sis also treated us at Yellow Cab this one time and we ordered some pizza and pasta. How am I ever gonna win our Weight-Loss Contest? This week, I soo promise myself I'm not going to be my old lazy self and I will exercise. I'm going to start again with a few sit-ups and dumbell exercises, who knows I might be able to force myself into the treadmill?

To inspire me, what I did was download Season 8 of The Biggest Loser. It was easy with free torrents. Now I can watch one episode per night to keep me motivated. Wish me luck, you guys.

Happy 5th Birthday Chellie!

My niece Chellie, the birthday celebrant, posing with her birthday cake that sis made. She's Ykaie's fave cousin because they live near our house.

Here's Ykaie munching on one of the cuppies while picture taking...

Children love Spaghetti, Fried Chicken and Hotdogs during birthday parties. Of course, these yummies won't miss this kid's birthday.

Mini-Pizza

and since we had a little "Mexican" on our theme, there's Quesadilla...

...some Beef Tacos....

and chips with some salsa, cheesy beef and caramelized onion dip.

Chellie with some of her friends..

Chellie's classmates and friends during the "pabitin"

That's peanutbutter "unclogging" the Piñata...
I was so tired after the event but we all had a great time....
Happy Birthday Chellie!

Theme: Chocolate

peanutbutter♥'s becoming spontaneous

The other day, peanutbutter's been complaining about how his legs are aching and that he has a headache. I told him that Ykaie and I would take him out for a massage. I didn't think he would agree but he did. So off we went. He got some foot reflex and a scalp massage.

I wasn't able to bring my camera along, so pardon the blurry photo. It was taken using my celfone.
~♥~♥~♥~
Update on our Weight Loss game. So far, I've lost the holiday weight gain. My weight today is 158 lbs as opposed to 166 lbs last Jaunary 2. I was able to force myself to do some exercises last week but this week, I am completely slacking off and eating. I indulged myself in some dark chocolates. I've completely given up rice, though. I promise to get back on track next week....

Good Night everyone..

Random Thoughts and Updates on a Friday Morning

Coffee & Coffee Cheesecake? Only a coffee lover junkie would order such things....like me. This is CBTL's The Ultimate Mocha Drink and coffee cheesecake. I enjoyed every single bite of that cheesecake. Hmmnn.. now what's brewing?

Yesterday, while Ykaie was taking her aftie nap. peanutbutter and I was able to sneak in some "US" time. We were able to cuddle and talk about things...... it was nice. We should sneak more often, hee.

Looking forward for some mall time on monday with the fam. Already have my list of things to check out. One of them is my fave brand of Jeans.

Planning on making Granola out of that rolled oats in the kitchen. Or else it won't be eaten and would be in the kitchen forever. I have to buy some ingredients.

Looking forward to an event on January 30. Will get to go out  and have bonding time with BFF, DJ.

Chellie's Mexican Themed birthday celeb is on Sunday. Yay! The kids [nieces] will be present. There will be Tacos and Quesadillas. I'll be making the dips for the chips. I love family events!

GOOD MORNING everyone!

Buying an Oven

I don't bake period. The first time I tried baking was around six years ago. I attempted to make Millionaires Shortbread Cookies. It is shortbread cookies topped with dulce de leche and chocolate. I'd say I'm pretty much successful but it was too sweet for me. I wanted to make it again and I wanted to try my hands on a little baking. We only have a convection oven toaster in our house. Its temperature is only up to 220° which mean I will be limited on what I can do.

Just the other day, sis and I were talking about buying an oven. She wanted to buy an oven because she loves baking. I wanted to buy an oven because I wanted to try it. The problem with ovens, is that they are too big and we have very limited space in the house. Another convection oven toaster that has temperature of up to 450° would be ideal because it is smaller in size and has the same function. The problem would be figuring out what the best toaster oven available is.
I would ask sis to look into Kitchen Aid Toaster Oven. She might like it and buy one.

Pasta Perfetto by Pizza Hut

Before embarking on a low-carb diet soon, I wanted to try Pizza Hut's Pasta Perfetto. They have 12 new affordable pastas which I heard to be really good.

Aglio Olio (P99)
A generous serving of spaghetti sautéed in extra virgin olive oil, with garlic anchovies and fresh basil that packs a light spicy taste. This is my kind of pasta dish...simple yet tasty! One reason to love anchovies!

3-Cheese Ravioli (P165)
Ravioli pasta filled with Mozzarella, parmesan and cream cheese tossed in light tomato sauce and drizzled with pesto cream. This is a little too rich for me. I didn't like the combination of cheeses.Perhaps it would be better if they substituted shiitake mushroom for the cream cheese.

Mango Shrimp Salad (P139)
Romaine lettuce tossed with refreshing creamy mango dressing & topped with garlic shrimps, fresh mango slices, tomatoes and sesame seeds. This has become a favorite! I always order this salad...

Tropical Fizz(P55)
Iced-cold 7-Up bursting with cherry & kiwi flavors. This is my order and that's sis's bottomless iced tea in the background.

I would have to try the Seafood Supremo next time.....

Good Buys and Two parties in one day

I had a rather busy weekend and my so-called "DIET" was forgotten for 2 whole days. My gahhh!! We had some good buys, though.

peanutbutter bought the latest issue of our fave comic book when we went to the mall.

Imagine attending two parties in one day?? I have to get back on track....

an entry forPhotobucket. Happy Start of the Week!
