I'm officially a cool mom

Ykaie and I often play with those bottled bubbles you can buy in the market or the mall. Yesterday was a very windy day. We had one of those big bottle of bubbles. Usually, what we do is I  hold the bubble wand and blow away because I can produce a lot more bubbles than ykaie. Then ykaie chases all the bubbles.

There was no need to blow bubbles yesterday, all I did was dip the wand in the bottle and hold it against the wind and it made lots and lots bubbles. When the kids in the neighborhood saw ykaie and I playing, they gathered to chase the flying bubbles and they were laughing while they do. After a few minutes, Ykaie told me she wanted to be in charge of the bubble-blowing so I gave her the bottle. She made just a few bubbles and the other kids were disappointed.

They said: Ykaie, mommy mo na lang.. {ykaie, give it back to your mom..}

The kids enjoyed my company. We emptied that bottle of bubbles.

I think I'm officially a "cool mom". {wink}

Mommy's Day Out by UNILAB

It was really nice to be invited and to be a part of the Mommy's Day Out given by UNILAB last monday. Busy, hardworking moms do need to take a break and treat themselves even for just a day. UNILAB made it all possible and gave us an excuse to get out and pamper ourselves.
It was a very intimate event because only seven made it to the event and our small group of moms easily bonded over a very delicious lunch. We shared blogger, mommy and online job stories.
The Beauty Coach, Ms. Marie Calica shared with us a few simple beauty mantras which will help keep us pretty moms. Let me share a few of them wih you:

♥ I promise to Scrub-a-dub-dub {aka EXFOLIATE}
♥ I will slap on the Face cream {aka MOISTURIZE}
♥ I won't forget my eyes {or my NECK}
♥ Water is my bestfriend
♥ I will say "si" to "E"..Vitamin E that is
♥ I am sleeping beauty
♥ I will use protection {SPF}
♥ I will keep myself fresh and clean

This closet daddy blogger from UNILAB also shared with us the importance of  Quality time apart and quality time together in relationships.
Pretty Makeup Arist Anjie Gogna gave us a Personal Beauty Makeup Workshop. Now, I feel the need to get an eyeliner and I really need to learn how to use one....LOL!
After that we were off to Mane Depot to be given a lot more pampering. We were given a hair spa, a foot spa, a manicure and a pedicure.

It was indeed a great day. I bonded with fellow mom bloggers and I also got to take home a bag full of UNILAB products that will let me continue pampering myself at home. I am so excited to try everything inside this bag.

Bonding over Ice Cream

We went to the mall see Vampires Suck but sadly it was R-18 and Ykaie is not allowed. We ended up watching Mamarazzi. Some parts of the movie are corny but most of it are so funny, nangawit ang ngala-ngala ko sa katatawa. Then it was ice cream time after the movie.
 Belgian Chocolate for Ykaie & Green Tea for me
What better way to bond with my little one than with one our favorite desserts-- Ice Cream!! Ykaie chose Belgian Chocolate with her favorite topping,sprinkles and for me...well, I was craving for some green tea ice cream since last week so I tried Haagen-Dazs' but I was disappointed. It lacks strong matcha taste. I should've gone for the new flavor -Caramel Biscuit and Cream.
I think it's somehow good that the green tea ice cream  doesn't have strong matcha taste because Ykaie likes it.
While waiting for a cab,Ykaie played with the water in the fountain. It was a good night.

Ykaie's First Neighbor Fight??

As a mom, it's nice to know that your child is a fighter.Yesterday, a neighbor told me that Ykaie hit her child. I know her child is smaller and younger, a one year old. My heart skipped a beat, specially when I saw the little boy crying. I didn't see what happened but  I got angry. It was very unlikely for her to do that. I took ykaie home, reprimanded her and hit her hands with my hands, to give her a lesson. I told her it's a bad thing and that she shouldn't hit another person, specially someone who's smaller than her. She cried and told me she was sorry. I  told her to go to that kid and say sorry. Ykaie was crying so hard and it was a pinch to my heart every time I see her like that...but I wanted her to learn a lesson.

Going back to the house, another neighbor told me that the reason why Ykaie hit that kid is because the little kid hit her first. It's a little comforting to know that Ykaie's action was a REACTION. It was her instinct kicking in, telling her to defend herself, she's just too young to know that the little kid won't be able to hurt her and that she was bigger. This is what the mom of the one year old failed to mention so I assumed it was Ykaie's fault. I'm not taking sides because these are kids. They don't really know what they are doing.One of them is just mine so I just wished I was informed of what happened, I could've reacted much better and I would have been able to explained the whole thing much better to ykaie...

A Day at Club Balai Isabel

We chose Club Balai Isabel, kasi nga, looking through their site, ay parang sobrang relaxing ng atmosphere doon...
..the view is spectacular.You can see the Taal Volcano in the background.
We stayed at the infinity pool.Yung Mobideep kasi, nawasak pala ng bagyong Ondoy. They rebuilt it but they are charging P250 entrance fee per person.
Well, to this kind miss who gave me the stub, if you happen to land on my blog: THANK YOU SO MUCH for giving me the stubs.
puro mommy moments ano???
O diba? naka-de-kwatro pa?
That concludes our micro-vacation....
last shot before going back to reality!

Happy Mother's Day

Katulad nga ng sinabi ko last year, saludo ako sa mga nanay dahil...........

Ang nanay ang may pinakamahirap na trabaho sa balat ng lupa.24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Matindi pa sa doktor dahil walang day-off at 24 hours on call. Parang endorser ng Vitamins, "bawal magkasakit". Parang OFW na minaltrato- walang sweldo,walang bakasyon,walang leave,bawal umabsent.Walang benepisyo. Walang holi-holiday. Di pwedeng mag-reimburse ng expenses.Walang promotion at di pwedeng mag-reklamo.

And when you die? you have to give whatever is left.

The oddest thing about everything is that you actually enjoy them. Masarap kasi yung feeling.

I felt closer to my mom when I became a mother. You won't understand how a mother feels until you become one. It's a sacrifice, it's a blessing, it's contentment, it's BLISS....

Happy Mother's Day to all the great moms I know and to all the wondeful moms who visit my blog everyday...

Cibo

Remember our biggest loser contest that should've ended last month? Well, it is extended until the 30th. And remember the "Temptation Challenge" in The Biggest Loser, where in the contestants are tempted with high-calorie goodies in exchange of power? Well, sis--aside from being my jillian and bob, is also doing that to me.

AND THIS IS MY SECOND TEMPTATION.....
I can't really remember the first time I tried Cibo but it was at the Shangri-La Plaza. That first time was among the firsts that inspired me in my food adventure.
Fontina. Tartufata. Asparagi [P255]
Thin sardinian flat bread and grilled Fontina cheese with asparagus-mushroom-truffle paste and truffle oil.
Insalate Del Sole [P208]
Salad with fennel, oranges, walnuts,  and anchovies with balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
Linguine Al Nero [P225]
Squid Pasta with olive oil and squid ink sauce. This was also the pasta I had years ago. It tasted so much better years ago than it is today. It was quite salty, good thing sis is fond of salty food.
Panino Porchetta [P207]
Roast Pork sandwich with three sauces: Apple and Pear, Red Wine Liver and lemon mayo. So not satisfied with the sandwich. It looked so much better than it tasted.
Pomelo Shake [P119]
This is sis's drink. I think she enjoyed it.
Menta Te Freddo [P88]
Mint Iced Tea. My drink, of course.love♥ it so much....I'm gonna make mint iced tea one of these days....
Something to keep kids busy.....
Being her usual playful, nosey self....

My little princess loves Donuts♥

Ykaie loves donuts. She loves those donuts with sprinkles on top. The other day, while waiting for daddy at Rob Galleria, she chanced upon KK's new mini donuts. Those mini-donuts has sprinkles on them and are very colorful but they only sell it per box of 20 pcs. I told her we could only buy one donut. She settled for the original glazed.

My baby girl is slowly becoming a little girl and we can now bond over donuts in cafƩs, talking about silly stuffs and things with no sense and telling stories. How time flies.........

I think she's now sugar high in the picture..heehee

Ykaie, the food blogger

Adjustment Period

Grocery Day

Our [peanutbutter♥ and i] original plan yesterday was to take Ykaie to Quiapo kasi first time nya mapunta dun. Nahiya naman ako to take it back kasi umaga pa lang nasa shop na sya.

At hayan may stolen shot pa kami kuning-kuning courtesy of sis.

I couldn't help it, my heart sings when I hear her laugh....

Subway

It's been a very long time since my sister who calls herself Anney and I had some Subway sandwiches. This is because some of the stores had closed down. Few people really appreciate sandwiches in a rice consuming country but this is gradually changing.
Last Sunday, we had lunch at Subway Glorietta and boy! did we miss these sandwiches! Sis even had two 6-inch sandwiches. (takaw talaga!)
This afternoon, before grocery shopping, we found out that the Subway at {SM} The Annex is now opened. This post is way too serious, not very gay, therefore, not very me.

 There are many sandwiches to choose from. Ang pinili namin ay ang bonggang-bonggang Subway Club: Sliced Chicken, Ham and Roast Beef. Then you have four types of bread to choose from: Italian, Wheat, Honey Oat and Parmesan Oregano.We chose Parmesan Oregano.

Next step, pipili ka naman ng veggies for your sandwich and we wanted everything on it. That's cheese, lettuce, olives, onions, bell pepper, jalapeƱo,tomato, and cucumber. Then top it off with your favorite dressing.
I had honey mustard and sweet onion.Si sis naman, mustard-mayo yata.

6-inch Subway Club Sandwich (P150)
Pwede mo sya gawin meal for an additional P60. You'll have a drink and chips or two cookies. Pwede mo rin syang gawing footlong for an additional P95. Ganun ginawa namin ni sis then pina-half namin, mas mura.
Ykaie is picking out lettuce from mommy's sammie. Mahilig kasi yan sa salad with honey mustard dressing.
O diba? puro mustard ang bibig? hahaha

an entry for.
