Garage Sale ni Ykaie

We decided to have a garage sale yesterday in order to sell Ykaie's old toys.
One kid's trash is another kid's treasure, diba? So, a garage sale is one way of turning soon-to-be kalat inside the house into money pambili ng kukurya at chichirya ni Ykaie.
The garage sale was a success!...ubos ang basura mga laruan ni Ykaie at kumita kami ng P80. Pagkaubos ng laruan, hala may nagdo-doorbell pa sa bahay at nagtatanong kung meron pa...

My New Fave TV Show

I recently discovered NCIS LA and is now an avid fan. It is still on its first season so I'll be able to follow all the episodes!!Weeeee

I never liked the original NCIS but I love Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J in this version.

New shows to watch.....another thing to keep me busy.

Cleaning Up?

I saw a small broom and dust pan at the market the other day and bought it for Ykaie.
She loved the little broom and dustpan so much, she wanted to sweep the whole street! Heehee

Something that prevents unnecessary snacking...

This is courtesy of my beautiful Tita Becky in the US as per sissy's request. The gum is sugarfree and is known for its long lasting flavor. Sis got the idea from the The Biggest Loser as it was being endorsed by the trainers there. They said that this gum curbs cravings from sweets and unnecessary snacking.

A gum has only 5 calories and it does prevents unnecessary snacking. As soon as I get a craving to munch on some chocolates which also happened to be from my Tita, I chew on a stick of gum...

Tita, *hint*hint Giggle

An accident that happened months ago....

It was just a normal day and my daughter, Ykaie, was being her usual nosy playful self around the house. My  aunt and I were having a conversation when we heard a really loud sound of glass shattering on the floor. I checked the immediate vicinity and my daughter was nowhere to be found. I found her just below the display cabinet, glass shards scattered on the floor. I think she was in shock because she was not moving. The glass shard that littered the floor was the cabinet's glass door.

What happened was, she opened the cabinet's door so she could play with the small colorful figurines inside. The hinges got loose from the wooden cabinet, when she pulled the glass door it fell on the floor and shattered. It's really a good thing the door did not fall on her. It was a miracle that she was unscathed by the incident. Not even a small wound from the broken glass.

When we inspected the hinges, we found some powdered wood. We suspected that drywood termites has been eating the wooden cabinet. Immediately my aunt injected some kind of chemical to kill the termites that might be eating the whole cabinet. Today, we are more careful about the wooden furniture around the house. Accidents happen and, of course, we want to prevent it from happening whenever we can.

Pramis. As in.

Dati masipag talaga akong mag-exercise...kaya lang nitong lumaon, syempre wala ng time tapos lagi ka pang pagod..mommy life takes over---kakatamad. Suske, baka di ko mahabol si ykaie pag nagtatakbo at tinakasan ako...So, I decided to spend my money on a stepper.

In fairness, sobrang gamit na gamit yon hanggang ngayon.

Tse!

Ykaie's Pasta Choice

This was one of our orders when we went out last saturday. It was a Nut-Pesto Pasta with Italian sausage. Ykaie loves oil-based pasta. She's doesn't like the spaghetti  with hotdog and sweet-blend tomato sauce kids usually go crazy for.
She had three servings of this pasta....look at that satisfied  expression.

I want......

RED FITFLOP! Kaya lang nakaka-stress ang presyo ng FitFlop. Chi-neck ko kanina sa Trinoma...P3,200! Ano beh?

Anyways, peanutbutter  and I was able to talk through video call this aftie *kilig*kilig* .. matagal-tagal kami nakapag-usap kasi rest day nya.

In other news, nakabili na akong stepper today. Yehey!!  Feeling ko kasi sisipagin ako mag-exercise  if I buy the equipment myself. Well, sana nga... Let's hope and pray. And hope and pray again.....hahahahaha.

Right now, I have a cup of hot coffee here with me. Perfect ending to my happy day today.
Good night!

Peanut Butter Company/ PB Co.

I am missing peanutbutter too much. I wanna eat everything with peanut butter. Good thing Peanut Butter Company opened up. This place is peanut butter heaven! I  highly recommended  this for peanut butter lovers or those who are just adventurous eaters out there!
The menu board [click to see larger image]
They offer everything with peanut butter whether sweet or savory. Pinoys are known to be peanut butter lovers but I think this is really a big move on their part to open up a restaurant that serves everything with peanut butter.
Roast Beef Sandwich [P185]
This is composed of cardamom peanut butter, roast beef and gravy. It tastes good but the bread is a little soggy from the gravy.
Classic Spaghetti [P135]
The classic spaghetti's sauce is Sun Dried Tomato Peanut Butter Meat sauce. I am surprised that the sun dried tomatoes and peanut butter went well together. I promised myself to try the other pasta dishes.
What's nicer is that aside from the local sodas, they also sell some of the imported soda flavors. Here's Ykaie, posing with my cherry 7up.
Imported Sodas [P45]
They also sell plain and different flavors of peanut butter for P180 - P220 which you can have a free taste before buying.*wink*
I'm definitely going back to try the Marshmallow Peanut Butter Sandwich, The PB Burger Sandwich and the Peanut Butter BLT Sandwich.

Dreaming about vacations again...

Reading is one way I discover new things that is why it is one of my favorite pastimes. I could lose myself for hours in a paperback, a recipe book or a magazine or just browsing  through the web jumping from one article to another.

If I want to know something I just browse the web and search for articles through search engines but when it's hard to find a specific article through search engines, I go to an  Article directory and look for it there. Article Directories contains various useful topics such as Automotive, Business, Computers, Dating, Marketing, health and Fitness, Legal matters, and Pregnancy and Chilbirth.

Right now, I'm reading about going on a vacation on a budget and about this really relaxing Spa in Thailand. We are planning to go on a vacation soon and of course in times of economic crisis we have to learn how we can enjoy traveling or going on a vacation on limited resources.

Why am I reading about the Spa in Thailand? Well, I like to go back on a vacation there because I've heard they have really nice Spas that really knows the definition of rest and relaxation at affordable prices.

Akalain mo...

Wala akong ma-kulit. Wala akong ma-kurot. Wala akong ma-harass. Wala akong ma-kiliti. It's a little boring. Nakakainis. Sarap pa naman mang-inis ng topakin..hahahahaa. Haaaayyy.. miss ko na talaga si peanutbutter. If not for this blog, I'd be talking to myself for sure....

Kanina tuloy ay nakapag-usap kami through Skype.

Life is Good.

2:30am

Instead of sleeping in my days which is what I really feel like doing, what I did to keep this saturday night busy is I accepted overnight players. This will last until 6 in the morning and then, I'm planning to sleep in the first half of my sunday.
I know, it seems like an awful awful way to spend my weekend but I feel lazy as hell. Or maybe I feel uninspired. Its a good thing that I got to talk to peanutbutter through video call, though. I was able to see him  even though he is a little bit pixelated.
This is really hard. You wouldn't really know how hard it is in this situation until you've experienced it.

Amana Waterpark

It's a good thing that we were able to go swimming before peanutbutter left for Dubai. Somehow, this became his "going away party". Amana Waterpark is located in Pandi, Bulacan. Around an hour and a half drive from where we live [Caloocan City]. The entrance is P250 for adults and P200 for children below 4ft. Since Ykaie is still 2 years old, she got in for free.
It has a 3,500 sq. m wave pool where you get to experience 13 waves. We weren't able to experience it though because the waves are only turned on during weekends. They only turn it on during weekdays if they have a booking of 50 persons or more.We went on a monday so the wave pool is very very peaceful.
Cottages are available for day use and for overnight use. Prices range from P600 - P2,800 depending on the size and if there are added amenities.
We rented the Executive Cottage for P2,500.It's from 8:30am - 6:00pm exclusive of the entrance. The cottage has an airconditioned room upstairs and a TV. Not bad at all. I think it's better to rent a cottage with a room specially if you brought children along with you so they'll have someplace to rest after they get tired of swimming.
You can also rent a grill for P100. We grilled some pork belly, fish and hotdogs.
There are life-size characters around the resort. They are fun to look at and to take pictures with. Not in the picture are Michael Jordan, The Terminator, Freddie Krueger, Mickey Mouse, Batman, Spiderman, and The Justice League Characters.
Ykaie is scared of these life-size cartoon characters that's why I wasn't able to take pictures of her.
But she had such a fun time with daddy at the kiddie pool!
The kiddie pool measure around 500 sq. m and it has life-size Dragonball Characters around it.
mommy is teaching Ykaie how to swim........as if she knows how..heehee..

You might be wondering about the other amenities. The resort also has a cave-like restaurant, kiosks, horseback riding, massage, souvenir shop, man-made waterfalls and soon to open slide pools.
At the end of the day, everybody's tired but we all had a great time. I'll be posting more photos in FB soon, just in case you wanna see more.

Before peanutbutter♥'s flight

The day before peanutbutter's flight to Dubai was spent over at my in-laws. We had a big lunch of Fried Fish, Beef with Bittermelon, Chicken and steamed rice. It was finished with a big glass of Rocky Road Ice Cream. Then more talks, advices, and reminders followed. Ykaie played some computer games and when she got tired, she asked for her milk and went to her grandma's room to sleep. Ykaie loves to fall asleep while watching TV.So mama, my MIL, got the air matress, put some bed sheet on top of it and positioned  it near the TV for Ykaie.101

This is one of the conveniences of having an air matress at home. You can lie down anywhere, anytime because it's very easy to set up. I think the difference is the in the materials its made of and the durability. So better check out some reviews or ratings of king air mattresses before buying one.

Anyway, I didn't know how we got into the topic but Ykaie was borrowing one of my in-laws' TV because she said that we didn't have TV in our room at home. Can you imagine a two-year old saying that? And I think they are really letting her borrow one of their TVs.

Have a Safe Trip, Luv♥

This is it. Nakaalis na si peanutbutter papuntang Dubai.
I mean, I know this is for our own good but the feeling still sucks.
I didn't feel it until yesterday..Kami pareho ni peanutbutter. We both had butterflies on our stomachs tapos para kaming masusuka. Parang nakakanerbiyos na di maintindihan.Di nga ako nakatulog kagabi.

Lalo na kanina. Nung hinatid namin sya sa airport. Kaya naman I didn't really bother to take pictures.

Ganun pala yon. You won't really feel the sadness until the very day na alisan na. As In.

"To peanutbutter:

Have a safe trip, mahal. You know how much Ykaie and I will miss you. Ingat ka dyan parati. Don't worry about us. We love you so much!

Love,Peach"

Manila Zoo

I wanted to take Ykaie to Manila Zoo because I had such a great time as a kid there and I wanted her to see more animals. Admission for adults cost P40 and for children below 4 ft it's P20.
The Manila Zoo that we visited is not the Manila Zoo that I've known as a kid anymore.Cages are being renovated as well as other areas of the zoo but there are less animals. Most of the animals are poorly taken care of and there are no giraffe or even a lion in sight.
We saw tigers, monkey, snake, iguana, ostrich, philippine deer, zebra, horses, hippo, different kinds of birds and an elephant.
There is also a small zoo inside the Manila Zoo called Kinder Zoo where you can pet the animals and take your pictures with them. Admission here costs P65 per person. You can take your pictures with different kinds of birds, an ostrich, a snake, a wild boar, a small crocodile,a turtle and a baby monkey.

THE BIRDS
I think Ykaie is a little bit scared with the birds, maybe because she can feel the claws in her head...
Ykaie and daddy
Cousin Roman
OSTRICH SHOTS
...with daddy and mommy

THE NEWEST MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY (LOLz)
...baby monkey
ykaie doesn't wanna carry the monkey but is afraid to let go of it either because it might fall and she knows that falling might hurt the baby monkey.

THE 20-YEAR-OLD TURTLE
ate chellie and ykaie
not scared with the big turtle---at all!
and that concludes our day at the Zoo.
I wonder where our next stop will be.
