Eat's a WRAP!: Shawarma

Shawarma is a Middle -Eastern, Arabic style sandwich which is usually composed of shaved lamb, goat, chicken, turkey, beef or a mixture of meats. It is made up into a sandwich using pita bread or lafa and adding cucumber, tomato, onion, cheese, dressing and at times, french fries.

I love love love love -- LOOOVE Shawarma! I'll certainly buy one if I see a store selling it, just to have a taste. Different stores have different recipes. Some beef are marinated so they taste sweet -- and I also love them that way!

The Shawarma above was brought from Boy Ching Woo, one of the oldest chinese restaurant here in Caloocan City famous for their specialty, Pancit Shanghai.

Hope you guys have a great Sunday!

want to cook shawarma some day. it is the sauce that makes it particularly delicious, di ba? kaya lang, mukhang difficult to make. kaya, like you, i just buy it na lang.

Wow! Shawarma or Gyro is yummy indeed! When we went to NYC a few years ago I had lamb gyro..ang sarap! Tapos fave haunts namin ni hubby is Shawarma locally made in Dumaguete by a Middle-Eastern guy....sarap! Especially if maraming hot sauce! Yum yum!

Shawarma is still a popular grab and go food. I remember when I was in college this is a favorite since I can eat as I walk from one building to another. :D

Here in the ME, funny how we always prefer the chicken shawarmas over the beef ones. And yes, they add french fries and dill pickles (which my kids don't particularly like) too! I love mine with loads of garlic mayo - yum!

i love shawarma (with beef) or it's called gyros using lamb... the sauce is what makes this dish, i believe.
